Our Team

Rev. Christopher O’Connor is a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston, President of the Theological Institute for the New Evangelization, and the Vice-Rector of St. John’s Seminary. He was ordained in 1998 after studying at St. John’s and at the Gregorian University in Rome. He received a Doctorate in Philosophy from Catholic University of America in 2004 and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from Boston College School of Theology and Ministry in 2010.

Previously, he was director of the Pre-Theology Program and a professor of philosophy at St. John’s. He was a parochial vicar at St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford, Mass., from 1998-2001 and a member of Catholic Relief Services’ Diocesan Advisory Board from 2000-2001.

Fr. O’Connor has organized seminary trips to Peru to visit with the Society of St. James in 2008 and 2011 and he was a member of the Archdiocese’s World Youth Day committee in 2004 and 2006. He was director of the Archdiocese’s Youth Gospel Road Program from 2002-2007.

Currently, Father assists at weekend Masses at St. John the Evangelist Parish, Winthrop, and Sacred Heart, East Boston. He is also a regular chaplain for the Missionaries of Charity and at MCI Norfolk prison.
